Namaste!
Kalaikoil was established in 1994 and provides classes in Hindu Vedic chanting/slokam for kids, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Carnatic Vocal. Our aim is to promote and create cultural awareness and appreciation of Indian Arts especially among families and children. Specifically our goal is to cultivate dedication, devotion, confidence and discipline through music, dance and drama. As such, Kalaikoil provides year round classes and opportunities for student performances and enrichment. Performances are regularly conducted at venues including Hindu temples, Indian cultural organizations, local libraries, schools and at community festivals.
To further our objective, Kalaikoil is an accredited Bharatanatyam training center through Alagappa Performing Arts. Students may obtain a degree from Alagappa University, India while attending classes at Kalaikoil. This is offered in addition to or as an alternative to the traditional Bharatanatyam Arangetram. In addition to classes, Kalaikoil offers a summer mini camp, hosts Hindu religious discourses and house concerts by eminent and upcoming artists. Kalaikoil students have received awards from organizations such as the Pleasanton Arts Council and Rotary. Kalaikoil strives to create an educational, nuturing & friendly environment.
Thank you for visiting.
